Transport to the Festival

Nearest station is Aberystwyth

Private Coach/Bus service
There will be a private Festival Shuttle Bus Service between Aberystwyth Railway Station and the Festival, mornings and evenings. The time table for this service will be released nearer the Festival & the cost of the journey per person will be £5 per trip (each way). There are many mini-cab/ taxi services in the area but these are more expensive. You need tickets in advance to use the bus service. Coach / bus drivers will not be able to accept payment so you need to buy passes in advance or at the Festival. Tickets will also be available at the Bellevue Hotel. Please note, it would be a great help if you let us know that you will be using the bus service so we can plan how many buses and trips we need. We do not at present plan to run a bus service from other locations, however we can if the demand is there. There will be public buses and numerous private taxis from other locations.

It is approximately 3 hours drive from Manchester or Birmingham international airports, 4-6 hours from London’s Heathrow or Gatwick airports.

The whole area is a major tourist destination during the August summer holiday and area accommodation will fully book up. Therefore if you require accommodation BOOK ACCOMMODATION AND TICKETS NOW.

Please click here for a list of hotels and B&Bs in the area. Or click on
We will assist you with accommodation and travel questions, but can’t guarantee rooms will be available even if you are participating in the Festival.

Tourist accommodation is the main industry in mid and North Wales, made up mostly of B&Bs, guest houses, pubs and inns, and self-catering holiday lets. As holiday resorts, hotels tend to be fewer in number and more expensive.

There are over 850 double rooms in the area, as listed with the tourist office. We have this list, which is provided through the Welsh government tourist site, (We have no affiliation with area accommodation and can only offer the list provided by Visit Wales and their link.) However, this is likely to be only half the number of rooms actually available, as most accommodation providers now have their own searchable websites and don’t bother with the government tourist board anymore. There are also dozens of accommodation directory websites. It is likely that there are up to 1,500 rooms in the area, but most will require a commute to the festival.

The small village of Pontrhydfendigaid has a limited range of B&B accommodation as well as some self-catering units. The surrounding areas of Tregaron (6 miles), Lampeter (17 miles) and Aberaeron (22 miles) also have accommodation available.

However the main area providing facilities is the traditional seaside town of Aberystwyth (15 miles). Aberystwyth has a range of B&Bs, Hotels and self catering accommodation and is the main venue for shops, restaurants, cafes and public houses. A coach service (chargeable) is being arranged to transport visitors from Aberystwyth to Pontrhydfendigaid.

If you leave booking accommodation until June or July you may find no rooms available, as the area is a very popular tourist destination. We encourage you to make accommodation arrangements now, so that your commute to the festival is as short as possible, walkable even!

We discovered many people have reserved accommodation, but as yet have not purchased an entrance ticket. This is likely to be because they are not a hundred percent certain they can come and plan to cancel their reservation later if necessary. This of course is unfair to those who have definitely decided to come and who are in the process of booking accommodation and their tickets now. We are therefore recommending to accommodation providers in the area that it makes sense to accept reservations only from those with a paid ticket or from exhibitors. A number code will be asked for to verify this. Please, think of your fellow fans. Buy a ticket, and then book your accommodation.

Camping and motor homes/caravans

The venue is set amid the picturesque Mid Wales countryside and to help you enjoy the whole experience more, there will also be onsite camping facilities for tents, RV’s, caravans & Sleeper Vans. Camping is available from the Wednesday night, check out Monday. Longer term camping is available nearby if you want to make a Wales holiday of your visit, please ask. We are offering Premium Riverside tent pitches at £20 per person per night (very limited please email or on-site tent pitches at £15 per person per night. Both types are positioned alongside the actual venue and include access to the venue shower & toilet facilities. Note- family tent camping is £45 a night for two adults and three children under 12. It is adult prices for each person over 12 years of age. The cost for RV’s, caravans & Sleeper Vans will be £45 per vehicle per night and they will also be alongside the venue & have access to the venue shower & toilet facilities, but no hook ups will be available, sorry! We expect there to be a wonderful atmosphere with so many devotees in one place, so please don’t leave it until the last minute to book your space and be disappointed. Cheaper off site camping will be made available after the on-site camping fills. Click the payment icon once for each person/camping pass per day, thus if 3 adults are tent camping for all three days, click nine times- 3 x 3. On-site camping charges on the day are higher, but are unlikely to be available on site. We are already selling camping tickets. Please note- you must have a valid entrance ticket first (or be a performer or exhibitor) to book camping passes.
